A famille rose garniture of three bottle vases and two beaker vases each decorated with the “Parrot on Perch” design sometimes attributed to Cornelis Pronk.

These vases were made in the same workshop as other known ‘Pronk’ designed pieces though the design cannot be attributed directly to him; the patterns and enamels used are distinctive of this workshop. It is possibly after a design by Petrus Schenk the Younger a German artist who was commissioned by the VOC to produce some designs for Japanese export porcelain. A design attributed to him with a parrot on a swing and spaniel is known both on Meissen porcelain and a Chinese export teabowl and saucer in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The spaniel extracted from that design is found on Chinese export pieces attributed to the Pronk workshop.

The design is also known in blue and white in a later version that is of a lesser quality on teawares.
